12 BACKGROUND In December 2021, plaintiff California Crane School, Inc. (CCS) filed this class action lawsuit against defendants Google LLC, Alphabet Inc., XXVI Holdings Inc., Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt (collectively, the Google defendants), as well as Apple Inc. and Apple CEO Tim Cook (collectively, the Apple defendants). CCS alleges that Google and Apple unlawfully agreed to divide the online search and search advertising markets in violation of federal and state antitrust laws. In June 2023, the Google defendants moved to compel arbitration, and all defendants moved to dismiss the complaint. Dkt. Nos. 114–115.
