12 Plaintiff has filed this pro se civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. His complaint (ECF No. 5) is now before the Court for review under 28 U.S.C. § 1915A. Plaintiff has been granted leave to proceed in forma pauperis in a separate order. DISCUSSION I. Background Plaintiff is currently housed at San Benito County Jail. See e.g., ECF No. 5 at 1. It appears that Plaintiff is a pre-trial detainee and is a defendant in the following cases in San Benito Superior Court: C Nos. 23-cr-0048, 23-cr-1477, 24-cr-0283, 24-cr-0315, HPF 23-2490, HPD 22- 3175, HPD 24-0496, and HPF 24-0333. See, e.g., ECF No. 5 at 5. On April 12, 2024, the Court received a letter from Plaintiff, which stated as follows:
