The order of this court filed on December 17, 2024, modifying the opinion and denying the petition for rehearing is vacated. The opinion filed herein on November 25, 2024, is modified as follows: In the section entitled, DISPOSITION, beginning on page 43, the paragraph is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:

1 The award for costs and prejudgment interest is vacated. The awards for past and future medical expenses are reversed and the matter remanded for a new trial limited to these issues. The judgment is otherwise affirmed. Each party shall bear their own costs on appeal pursuant to California Rules of Court, rule 8.278(a)(5).…
