2 September 2009, Islas and Bautista were at a 7-Eleven store when Bautista became angry and jealous and shoved Islas, believing Islas was cheating because her neck was red. According to witnesses, he also headbutted and punched her. She was carrying a child in her arms at the time. Islas called the police to report the incident.
