ORDER 14 BRAZIL, et al., 15 Defendants. 16 17 Plaintiff is a state prisoner, proceeding pro se with a civil rights action pursuant to 18 42 U.S.C. § 1983. As of January 22, 2025, plaintiff was housed at Corcoran State Prison, 19 Corcoran (“CSP-COR”). This proceeding was referred to this Court pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 20 § 636(b)(1) and Local Rule 302. Plaintiff filed a complaint, accompanied by a motion for 21 temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, and a motion to proceed in forma 22 pauperis. (ECF Nos. 1, 2, 3.) Plaintiff’s complaint has not yet been screened. 23 As set forth below, the undersigned provides an opportunity to the California Department 24 of Justice, which typically represents state government individuals in 42 U.S.C. § 1983 suits 25 brought by state prisoners, to submit a response to the motion for temporary restraining order and 26 preliminary injunction and…
