14 TONEY WAYNE MEREDITH, et al., 15 Defendants. 16 17 Plaintiff Alison Helen Fairchild, proceeding without the assistance of counsel, filed this 18 action on July 11, 2024.1 Plaintiff paid the filing fee and was issued summons issued by the Clerk 19 of Court to serve the defendants. (ECF No. 5.) On December 6, 2024, and again on January 3, 20 2025, the court issued orders informing and reminding plaintiff that, pursuant to Rule 4 of the 21 Rule of Civil Procedure: 22 If a defendant is not served within 90 days after the complaint is filed, the court—on motion or on its own after notice to the 23 plaintiff—must dismiss the action without prejudice against that defendant or order that service be made within a specified time. 24 But if the plaintiff shows good cause for the failure, the court must extend…
