INTRODUCTION

Victoria Nguyen sued her neighbors—Irene Ramirez, Krystal Moore, Clifton Demery, and Omar Flores—after they gave witness statements to police in connection with a report of an accident involving Nguyen’s car and

Flores’s bicycle.1 In her complaint, Nguyen asserted five causes of actions, for nuisance, general negligence, gross negligence, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Ramirez and Moore filed a special motion to strike the complaint under

the anti-SLAPP statute, Code of Civil Procedure section 425.16.2 Demery separately filed an anti-SLAPP motion to strike the complaint against him. The trial court granted both motions. Nguyen appeals, asserting the court erred in finding her causes of action arose from protected activity and that she had failed to meet her burden to show a probability of prevailing on the merits. We affirm.
