BACKGROUND

Amended Information An amended information charged defendant with assault with a deadly weapon (Pen. Code,1 § 245, subd. (a)(1); count 1), criminal threats (§ 422, subd. (a); count 2), and attempted murder (§§ 664, 187, subd. (a); count 3). On counts 1 and 2, the information alleged defendant personally inflicted great bodily injury. (§ 12022.7, subd. (a).)
