Defendants. 16 Plaintiff Troy A. Sykes is proceeding pro se and in forma pauperis in this civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. section 1983. I. INTRODUCTION Following screening, this action proceeds on Plaintiff’s Eighth Amendment conditions of confinement claim against Defendant John Doe, Food Services Head Manager at Avenal State Prison. (See Docs. 14 &15.)1 On October 24, 2024, the Court issued an order granting Plaintiff ninety days within which to identify John Doe and to file a notice of substitution. (Doc. 16.)
