BACKGROUND 18 On June 6, 2025, plaintiff filed a Complaint against defendant John Doe subscriber 19 assigned IP address 23.115.196.145, asserting a single claim for direct copyright 20 infringement. Doc. No. 1. Plaintiff alleges it is the owner of certain adult-content films and 21 that defendant “is committing rampant and wholesale copyright infringement” by 22 downloading and distributing plaintiff’s works without plaintiff’s authorization, 23 permission, or consent.
