Defendant Kevin Rogers was sentenced to 63 years in prison in 2014 after pleading no contest to various offenses including two counts of voluntary manslaughter. In 2023, he petitioned for resentencing under Penal Code section 1172.6. The trial court vacated one of his manslaughter convictions as well as a corresponding sentencing enhancement, and he was resentenced to 54 years in prison.
