On January 1, 2023, Assembly Bill No. 1936 (2021–2022 Reg. Sess.) (Assembly Bill 1936) changed the name of what was formerly known as “Hastings College of the Law” to “College of the Law, San Francisco” (College). (Ed. Code, § 92200.) Assembly Bill 1936 also deleted from Education Code section 92204 the requirement that one member of the College’s board of directors “shall always be an heir or representative of S.C.
