Respondent. 16 Petitioner is a state prisoner proceeding pro se with a petition for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. He filed a first amended petition on April 14, 2025, challenging a 2017 conviction for second degree murder and related charges. (Doc. 8.) Respondent filed an answer to the petition on June 25, 2025. (Doc. 17.) Petitioner did not file a traverse. Upon review of the pleadings, the Court finds that the petition is without merit and will recommend it be DENIED. I.
