16 17 18 Plaintiff Georgette G. Purnell, proceeding pro se and in forma pauperis, initiated this civil 19 action on February 13, 2019. Doc. 1. On February 28, 2020, plaintiff filed a first amended 20 complaint. Doc. 10. On January 5, 2021, the magistrate judge screened plaintiff’s first amended 21 complaint and recommended that the action proceed on plaintiff’s (1) Fourth Amendment claim 22 against defendant Mora for use of excessive force in effectuating an arrest, and (2) 42 U.S.C. 23 § 1981 claim against Mora for use of a racial insult. Doc. 15. The magistrate judge 24 recommended that all other claims and defendants be dismissed from this action. Id. On 25 February 2, 2021, the then assigned district judge issued an order adopting the January 5, 2021 26 findings and recommendations in full. Doc. 16. …
