18 Petitioner Gerrell Hasley, Jr., is a state prisoner proceeding pro se and in forma pauperis in 19 this habeas action pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. 20 Background 21 Petitioner initiated this action with the filing of a petition for writ of habeas corpus on June 22 12, 2025. (Doc. 1). On August 11, 2025, the Court set a briefing schedule and directed Respondent 23 Christian Pfeiffer to file a response to the petition. (Doc. 5).
