This appeal arises out of two felony cases. On April 12, 2012, in case number SS120652A (hereafter case no. 652A) the Monterey County District Attorney charged Consuelo Diaz (appellant) with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) (Health & Saf. Code, § 11377, subd. (a), count one) and misdemeanor possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (Health & Saf. Code, § 11364.1, subd. (a), count two).
