I. INTRODUCTION

Plaintiff and appellant Tonya Pinkins brought suit alleging various causes of

action against defendants and respondents Meridith Stempinski, Pam Stearns, Virginia

Pharris, Christina Amezola, Debbie Gunter, Emily Bares, Lisa Beauregard, Ana Grimes,

and Centennial High School Theatre Boosters, relating to purported defamatory

statements. In an unpublished opinion filed August 21, 2012, we reversed the trial

court’s grant of defendants’ special motion to strike plaintiff’s complaint (anti-SLAPP

motion) pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure2 section 425.16 (the anti-SLAPP statute).

Plaintiff now appeals from the trial court’s order sustaining defendants’ demurrers to

plaintiff’s first amended complaint without leave to amend and awarding defendants

costs. We find no error and affirm.

II. FACTS AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND
