FACTS

In 1975, after Thompson was convicted on two counts of first degree murder and other crimes, the Orange County Superior Court sentenced Thompson to state prison for life with the possibility of parole. (In re Thompson (1985) 172 Cal.App.3d 256, 258.) At the time of trial in this case in 2015, Thompson had been incarcerated for 45 years.
