18 On August 11, 2021, Plaintiff David Washington (“Plaintiff”) filed a pro 19 se civil rights complaint (the “Complaint”) pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 20 alleging that Defendants Lori Myers, the Riverside County District Attorney’s 21 Office, and the County of Riverside (“Defendants”) colluded to hold him in 22 custody past his purported release date of July 8, 2021. The Complaint 23 asserts that Defendants’ actions constituted cruel and unusual punishment 24 and intentional infliction of emotional distress and seeks compensatory and 25 punitive damages for mental anguish.
