On February 27, 2022, Petitioner, a pretrial detainee in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department proceeding pro se, filed a habeas petition pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241 in the Eastern District of California. (“Petition,” Dkt. No. 1). On September 14, 2023, the case was transferred to this court. (Dkt. No. 2).
