UNKNOWN, Defendant. 16 17 Plaintiff is a state prisoner inmate proceeding without counsel in an action brought under 18 42 U.S.C. § 1983. On August 16, 2021, the court found that plaintiff had neither paid the filing 19 fee required by 28 U.S.C. § 1914(a) nor requested leave to proceed in forma pauperis under 28 20 U.S.C. § 1915(a). ECF No. 3. 21 Accordingly, the court directed plaintiff to either pay the filing fee or submit the 22 application required by § 1915(a). Id. The court also warned plaintiff that failure to do so would 23 result in this action being dismissed. Id.
