BACKGROUND

24 On October 13, 2016, Plaintiff applied for supplemental security income, 25

Plaintiff, who was represented by 4 counsel, and a vocational expert (“VE”) testified at the hearing. (AR 51-75.) 5 In a decision dated May 2, 2019, the ALJ found that Plaintiff suffered from the 6 severe impairment of degenerative disc disease. (AR 41.) After finding that 7 Plaintiff’s impairment did not meet or equal a listed impairment, the ALJ determined 8 that Plaintiff retained the residual functional capacity (“RFC”) to perform a light 9 work with the restriction to frequent pushing or pulling with the lower extremities 10 and occasional postural activities.
