Background 22 This action proceeds on plaintiff’s complaint, in which she alleges First Amendment 23 retaliation, Eighth Amendment excessive force, and Eighth Amendment deliberate indifference 24 claims against defendants Simpson, Arther, and Jones. ECF Nos. 1, 7. Plaintiff alleges that on 25 August 16, 2020, she participated in an interview with correctional officer Arther concerning a 26 claim of excessive force against correctional officer Simpson.
