17 18 Plaintiff Raymond Alford Bradford is a state prisoner proceeding pro se and in forma 19 pauperis in this civil rights action brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. This matter was referred 20 to a United States Magistrate Judge pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 636(b)(1)(B) and Local Rule 302. 21 On June 14, 2022, the assigned magistrate judge issued an order granting defendants’ 22 request for an extension of time in which to respond to plaintiff’s complaint. (Doc. No. 41.) 23 Therein, the magistrate judge concluded that defendants had shown good cause for the requested 24 extension of time because the Correctional Law Section of the Attorney General’s Office was 25 understaffed.
