BACKGROUND 19 Clarence Lonnell Roberson (“Plaintiff”) is a state prisoner proceeding pro se and in 20 forma pauperis in this civil rights action filed pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. This case 21 proceeds on Plaintiff’s Eighth Amendment claims for failure to protect against two Doe 22 sergeants and a Doe lieutenant and for deliberate indifference to serious medical needs against 23 the two Doe sergeants, the Doe lieutenant, and two Doe correctional officers.1 (See ECF Nos. 24 13 & 18). 25 The Doe Defendants have not been served.
