16 Plaintiff Jonathan Dewitt McDowell is proceeding pro se and in forma pauperis in this civil rights action brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. I. PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND Plaintiff’s original complaint was filed on July 10, 2020. (Doc. 1.) Following screening (Doc. 11), the Court ordered service of the complaint on Defendants Atkinson, Furlong, Leora, Harman, Hernandez and Johnson. (Doc. 16.) On July 28, 2021, Defendants Atkinson, Furlong, Harman, Johnson and Leora filed an answer to the complaint. (Doc. 28.)
