12 ORDER RE: SUGGESTION OF DEATH AND Plaintiff, DIRECTING PARTIES TO MAKE 13 SUPPLEMENTAL FILING v. 14 (Doc. 17) BI BI LIM, et al., 15 Defendants. 16 17 18 On June 16, 2023, counsel for Plaintiff Jackson National Life Insurance Company (“Plaintiff”) 19 filed a suggestion of death upon the record as to Defendant Winston Lim (“Decedent”) “in accordance 20 with Fed. R. Civ. P. 25(a)(1).” (Doc. 17).1 Plaintiff attached an obituary of Decedent noting he passed 21 away on April 23, 2023. (Doc. 17-1). Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 25(a)(1) provides: 22 If a party dies and the claim is not extinguished, the court may order substitution of the proper 23 party.
