Bonilla (“Defendants”) to modify the case schedule. 19 (Doc. 40). 20 Background 21 Plaintiff initiated this action against Defendants on August 10, 2021, in the Superior Court 22 of the State of California, County of Kings, with the filing of a complaint asserting claims 23 pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and state law in connection with the death of Antonio Vasquez 24 while he was in custody at Corcoran State Prison. (Doc. 1). On July 14, 2022, Defendants 25 removed the action to this Court. Id. 26 On November 4, 2022, the Court issued a scheduling order pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 16. 27 (Doc. 15).
