I. INTRODUCTION

18 On January 18, 2024, Plaintiff Jose Escobedo (“Plaintiff”) filed his Complaint against 19 Defendants Jensen & Pilegard, Ryan Pilegard, Brent D. Pilegard, Gregory C. Pilegard, Ryan 20 Pilegard, Cole Pilegard, Celeste Pilegard, and Ellen Pilegard, Trustee of the Ellen Pilegard Living 21 Trust u/d/t/ dated February 25, 2011 (“Defendants”), alleging claims under the American with 22 Disabilities Act (“ADA”), California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act (“Unruh Act”), and California’s 23 Health and Safety Code. (Doc. 1). These claims stem from alleged barriers Plaintiff encountered 24 while he visited four facilities owned, operated, or leased by Defendants. (See id.) 25 On February 16, 2024, the undersigned ordered Plaintiff to show cause why the Court should 26 not decline to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over his state law claims in light of the Ninth 27 Circuit’s decision in Vo v. Choi. (See Doc. 7.); Vo v. Choi, 49 F.4th 1167 (9th Cir. 2022) (affirming 28 1 a district court’s decision to decline supplemental jurisdiction over an Unruh Act claim); see 28 2 U.S.C. § 1367(c).
