18 19 Plaintiff Michael Jace is proceeding pro se and in forma pauperis in this civil rights action 20 pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. This action proceeds on Plaintiff’s First Amendment retaliation 21 claim against Defendant Peterson. 22 I. BACKGROUND 23 On August 30, 2023, the Court issued its Discovery and Scheduling Order. (Doc. 42.) 24 Relevant here, the order provided a November 30, 2023 deadline for amending pleadings.
