18 Pending before the Court is Plaintiffs G.H., V.H., and A.H.’s petitions to appoint Jennifer

19 Marrufo as their guardian ad litem, filed on March 8, 2024. (Docs. 5-7). For the reasons set forth 20 herein, Plaintiffs’ petitions shall be GRANTED. 21 Legal Standard 22 Pursuant to Rule 17 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, a representative of a minor or 23 incompetent person may sue or defend on the minor or incompetent person’s behalf. Fed. R. Civ. P. 24 17(c). A court “must appoint a guardian ad litem—or issue another appropriate order—to protect a 25 minor or incompetent person who is unrepresented in an action.” Id.
