Introduction 15 Claimant E.R., a minor child by and through his guardian, Perla Calderon, (“Claimant”) 16 seeks judicial review1 of a final decision of the Commissioner of Social Security (“Commissioner” 17 or “Defendant”) denying his application for supplemental security income (SSI) pursuant to Title 18 XVI of the Social Security Act. Because substantial evidence and applicable law support the ALJ’s 19 decision, the decision will be affirmed. 20 II. Factual and Procedural Background 21 On January 31, 2019, Claimant applied for SSI. The Commissioner denied the application 22 initially on April 16, 2019, and on reconsideration on August 22, 2019.
