14 CITY OF STOCKTON, et al., 15 Defendants. 16 17 On January 16, 2024, I screened plaintiff’s amended complaint and notified her that it 18 failed to state a claim. ECF No. 9. I granted her thirty days to file an amended complaint and 19 notified her that failure to do so would result in a recommendation that this action be dismissed. 20 To date, plaintiff has not filed an amended complaint. 21 To manage its docket effectively, the court imposes deadlines on litigants and requires 22 litigants to meet those deadlines. The court may impose sanctions, including dismissing a case, 23 for failure to comply with its orders or local rules. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(b); E.D. Cal. L.R. 110; 24 Hells Canyon Pres. Council v.
