14 In this action, pro se plaintiff Joyce Marie Simmons, a federal prisoner confined at the 15 Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California (“FCI-Dublin”), claims that several prison 16 officials have violated her constitutional rights. Dkt. No. 1. Ms. Simmons filed a verified 17 complaint asserting the following claims: (1) use of excessive force and failure to protect her from 18 excessive force, in violation of the Eighth Amendment, (2) placement in administrative detention 19 in retaliation for filing a lawsuit, in violation of the First Amendment, and (3) denial of due 20 process of law in connection with her administrative detention, in violation of the Fifth 21 Amendment.1 See…
