12 13 Plaintiff, a California inmate incarcerated at Salinas Valley State Prison (“SVSP”), has 14 filed the instant pro se action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, alleging that SVSP correctional 15 officers Vargas, Alvarez and Garcia violated his constitutional rights. Now pending before the 16 Court is defendants’ motion for summary judgment. Dkt. No. 47. Plaintiff has filed an 17 opposition, Dkt. No. 51, and defendants have filed a reply, Dkt. No. 55. For the reasons set forth 18 below, the Court GRANTS the defendants’ motion for summary judgment. 19 BACKGROUND 20 I. General Overview 21 The following facts are undisputed.
