I. BACKGROUND
25 On June 11, 2009, an Alameda County jury convicted Petitioner of first degree 26 7 || | Petitioner proceeded pro se after court appointed counsel was permitted to withdraw as counsel after the Court found a lack of good cause to continue the appointment. Dkt. Nos. 2g || 58, 60, 62.

On October 5, 2009, the trial court 3 || sentenced Petitioner to 50 years to life in state prison.
