14 15 Matthew J. Capanis filed this pro se action for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 16 § 2254. His petition is now before the court for review pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2243 and Rule 4 of 17 the Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases in the United States District Courts. His several 18 miscellaneous requests also are before the court for consideration. 19 20 BACKGROUND 21 The petition provides this information: Following a jury trial in 2017 in Contra Costa County 22 Superior Court, Capanis was convicted of first degree murder and active participation in a criminal 23 street gang, and sentence enhancement allegations were found true.
