12 13 14 INTRODUCTION 15 Djoliba Narcisse, a prisoner currently incarcerated at the California Medical Facility in 16 Vacaville, filed this pro se action for writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. 17 Respondent has filed an answer and Mr. Narcisse has not filed a traverse. Mr. Narcisse’s petition 18 is now before the Court for review on the merits. For the reasons discussed below, the petition for 19 writ of habeas corpus will be denied. 20 BACKGROUND 21 Mr. Narcisse was charged in Contra Costa Superior Court with aggravated mayhem, 22 mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, and various related enhancements.
