12 I. INTRODUCTION Albert A. Ontiveros, an inmate at the Pelican Bay State Prison, filed this pro se action for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. His petition is now before the court for review pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §2243 and Rule 4 of the Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases. II. BACKGROUND The petition and attachments thereto provide the following information: Mr. Ontiveros is serving a sentence of 13 years eight months imposed by the Alameda County Superior Court on August 23, 2010. Docket No. 1 at 1. In this action, he challenges a loss of time credits that will affect the duration of his confinement.
