17 18 Plaintiff, who appears to be a pretrial detainee currently being held at the 19 Mendocino County Jail, filed the instant pro se civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 20 1983 against Sheriff Tom Almond of Mendocino County. Dkt No. 1, “Compl.” Plaintiff’s 21 motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis shall be addressed in a separate order. 22 DISCUSSION 23 A.
