13 14 Before the court is defendant FedEx Ground Package System, Inc.’s (“FedEx 15 Ground” or “defendant”) motion to join contracted service providers as necessary parties. 16 The matter is fully briefed and suitable for decision without oral argument. Having read 17 the parties’ papers and carefully considered their arguments and the relevant legal 18 authority, and good cause appearing, the court hereby GRANTS defendant’s motion to 19 join parties. 20 BACKGROUND 21 On December 14, 2018, plaintiffs Herman Overpeck and Kevin Sterling filed a 22 putative class action against FedEx Corporation (“FedEx”) and FedEx Ground.
