13 14 Petitioner Ronald Singh is a citizen of Fiji who was detained by U.S. Immigration and 15 Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) on July 6, 2018 and remains in custody at the Mesa Verde ICE 16 Processing Facility (“Mesa Verde”) in Kern County, California.1 He filed the present action for 17 habeas corpus relief, claiming that he is being detained under circumstances that violate his due 18 process rights under the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241, 19 he seeks an order of release from detention, with appropriate conditions of supervision if 20 necessary. Dkt.
