11 12 Rolando Castellanos, a pro se state prisoner, has brought a habeas petition pursuant to 28 13 U.S.C. § 2254. The Court ordered respondent to show cause why the writ should not be granted. 14 Respondent filed an answer and a memorandum of points and authorities in support of it, and 15 lodged exhibits with the Court. The petition is denied. 16 BACKGROUND 17 A jury found Castellanos guilty of second-degree murder with firearm allegations. People 18 v. Castellanos, 2015 WL 7300487, at *1 (Cal. Ct.
