INTRODUCTION 16 Plaintiff Trusted Knight Corporation (“Trusted Knight”) brings this action against 17 Defendant International Business Machines Corporation (“IBM”), accusing IBM of infringing 18 Trusted Knight’s United States Patent No. 9,503,473 (“the ’473 Patent”). On June 2, 2020, the 19 parties appeared before the Court for a claim construction hearing, and on June 9, 2020, the parties 20 submitted supplemental briefing on the role that predecessor claims play in the construction of 21 subsequent claims.
