12 This is a defamation case against Defendant Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta”). Before the Court is Meta’s Motion to Dismiss, which was heard before this Court on November 2, 2023. Having read the papers filed by the parties and carefully considered their arguments therein and those made at the hearing, as well as the relevant legal authority, the Court hereby GRANTS the Motion, for the following reasons. BACKGROUND A. Factual History Plaintiff Genevieve Mahoney is a college student at Furman University who has an Instagram account with the username @genmahoney19.
