12 Petitioner Daniel Yu, a California state prisoner, alleges several claims for habeas relief 13 under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Dkt No. 16. The Court directed respondent to show cause why the writ 14 should not be granted. Dkt. No. 18. Respondent filed an answer to the habeas petition, Dkt. No. 15 25, and Yu filed a traverse, Dkt. No. 51. The petition is denied. 16 BACKGROUND 17 The California Court of Appeal provided a detail account of the material facts and trial 18 proceedings. See People v.
