12 13 Plaintiff Chinari Santosh Kumar Patra (“Patra”) filed this suit against Defendant General 14 Motors LLC (“GM”) in Santa Clara County Superior Court, asserting fives causes of action 15 related to an allegedly defective Chevy Bolt. ECF No. 1-1 (“Compl.”). Defendant removed the 16 case to federal district court based on diversity jurisdiction. ECF No. 1 (“Not. of Removal”) ¶ 1. 17 Two motions are before the Court. Plaintiff moves to remand the case to state court, 18 arguing that GM has not shown that the parties are diverse, the amount in controversy exceeds 19 $75,000, or removal was proper.
