15 I. INTRODUCTION 16 Plaintiff Joana Rios Lagunas filed this state-law wage and hour action on behalf of herself 17 and employees who worked for Young Adult Institute, Inc. (“YAI”). YAI is a corporation that 18 owns and operates facilities in California serving people with intellectual and developmental 19 disabilities. The parties have now reached a proposed class action settlement resolving Plaintiff’s 20 class claims. Under its terms, Defendant will pay a non-reversionary settlement of $850,000.00 to 21 the approximately 299 class members. Plaintiff also seeks certification of the Settlement Class 22 pursuant to Rule 23(e) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The proposed settlement appears 23 to be within the ambit of…
