13 This is a civil rights case brought by a state prisoner under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. His claims arise from his detention at Pelican Bay State Prison (“PBSP”). In an order dated July 26, 2023, the court granted in part and denied in part defendants’ motion for summary judgment. See Dkt. 103. Specifically, the case proceeded on plaintiff’s retaliation claim against defendant Ford regarding an incident on January 16, 2020. The court concluded that plaintiff had raised a genuine issue of material fact as to whether Ford was made aware that he was the subject of plaintiff’s grievance and issued a false Rules Violation Report (“RVR”) as retaliation.
