Defendant. 16 Claudie Tyler is the plaintiff in this action and is proceeding without an attorney (representing oneself in litigation is called proceeding “pro se”). Mr. Tyler is currently housed at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility located in San Diego, California, and has filed a civil rights action, which states a claim under 42 United States Code (“U.S.C.”) Section 1983. (See ECF No. 1.)
